B-Squad To The Rescue
BRANDING & IDENTITY
B-Squad, a non-profit dog rescue and transportation service, has saved over 6,000 dog’s lives across the Midwest since November 2014. To increase their organization’s funding and awareness, Robb and Misten Long asked me to create a logo to reflect their mission.
In the beginning, every transport was delivered by a trusty ’96 Chevy conversion van named, “Big Bertha”. Bertha was a mighty, well-oiled machine — driving 500+ miles with up to 25 dogs in tow across several state lines each week. When thinking about what the logo could be, thought about Bertha and B-Squad’s purpose through two visual icons— A van to symbolize their transportation efforts and a dog’s face to show people what kind of animal they rescue.
Robb Long is a big fan of circular logos, so we started to explore ways of incorporating another B-Squad element without it being a basic shape—that’s when the dog tag idea surfaced and tied the whole logo together.
